Anderson, Flora Mae Maxwell

Flora Mae Maxwell was born in Pulaski, TN, the daughter of Richard and Florence Ella Reynolds Maxwell. The family is enumerated in the 1920 and 1930 U.S. Censuses when they were living in Tennessee. Flora's mother had remarried: her name is given as Ella Harwell in the 1930 U.S. Census. In 1939 Flora is listed in the Louisville, KY city directory; she was employed as a maid. Her family continued living in Tennessee when the family members were enumerated in the 1940 U.S. Census.

In 1943, Flora Maxwell was still living in Louisville, KY when she enlisted in the Army in Cincinnati, OH, according to her record in the National Archives, Access to Archival Databases. After completing her military service she returned to Louisville. On August 26, 1950, Flora married James A. Anderson in Indiana. The couple resided in Louisville where Flora Anderson was employed as a practical nurse.

Flora M. Maxwell Anderson died in Louisville in 1994 and is buried in Green Meadows Memorial Cemetery.
