Myrtle Baker was born in Burkesville, KY, the daughter of Martha J. Elliott and Henry Clay Baker. Her father died in 1926. The family is enumerated in the 1930 U.S. Census. They were living in Gallatin, TN when enumerated in the 1940 U.S. Census. In 1942, Myrtle Baker enlisted in the Army at Fort Oglethorpe, GA, according to her record in the National Archives, Access to Archival Databases. Myrtle Baker Rickman died in Marion, IN and is buried in the Marion National Cemetery.
