Colored News and Colored Notes (Berea Newspaper)
(start date: 1913 - end date: 1922)The "Colored News" column ran for a few issues in 1913 in the Citizen newspaper in Berea, KY. In September of 1921 there was a "Colored Notes" column. Then, the "Colored News" column ran again for two issues, one in March and one in June of 1922. The name of the column was not consistent. Starting in July of 1922, the "Colored Notes" column was printed in the Citizen until December of 1922.
The Citizen, founded in 1899, was sponsored by Berea College. The paper was initially a recruitment tool for white students.
