Simpson, Arnold R.

(born: April 26, 1952) 

Arnold R. Simpson was born in Somerset, KY. He was the first African American to become city manager of Covington, KY and, in 1994, the first elected state representative from northern Kentucky's House District 65 (Kenton County).

Simpson won consecutive re-elections to the Kentucky General Assembly, serving from 1995-2018. He was the Covington city manager from 1986-1990 and the assistant manager from 1984-1986.  

Arnold Simpson is the son of James Simpson, Jr.  He is a graduate of Kentucky State University and the University of Kentucky College of Law.
