Helen C. Bedinger Washington enlisted in the Army in Cincinnati, OH, according to her record in Ancestry. Born in Paris, KY, she was the daughter of Louise Bedinger and William Washington. Mother and daughter are enumerated in the 1930 and the 1940 U.S. Census.

Helen Washington was a graduate of Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, IN. After her military service, she married Marion Owens, and the family lived in Indianapolis where Helen C. Bedinger Washington Owens died in 2015. She is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery.
