Green, Emma Cason
(born: 1886 - died: 1983)Emma Cason Green, born in North Middletown, KY, was the daughter of James and Rebecca Cason. Her husband was Charles Green, also from Bourbon County. Emma Cason Green attended Kentucky Classical and Business College in North Middletown, and was the first or one of the first African Amrican students at the school. She and her family moved to Anderson, IN. She was a dressmaker and also wrote poetry, with some of her poems published in Attempting to Express My Thoughts, compiled by J. Curtis and published in 1974. She also wrote the History of the Second Christian Church, North Middletown, Ky. Emma Cason Green has a headstone in the Prescott Pike Cemetery in North Middletown, KY, that gives her birth year as 1886. The Emma Cason Green Papers are housed at the Indiana Historical Society.
