Librarians' Conference of the Kentucky Negro Educational Association

The Librarians' Conference was established April 11, 1935 during the 59th Annual Session of the Kentucky Negro Educational Association (KNEA) in Louisville. It was the first formal organization for African American and teacher librarians in Kentucky. The group continued to meet annually during the KNEA Conference until desegregation in 1956 when it was subsumed into the Kentucky Education Association.
