Johnson, Lawrence Edward

(born: December 7, 1931  -  died: July 8, 1978) 

Lawrence E. Johnson was the first African American member and deputy fire chief of La Grange Fire and Rescue Squad, from 1970-1978. Information submitted by Ruby Booker of LaGrange, KY.

Additional Information:
Lawrence E. Johnson was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was employed as a mechanic at South Central Bell. He was the son of Emma and Leslie T. Johnson. Lawrence E. Johnson is buried in the Valley of Rest Cemetery in La Grange, KY.
