Baker, Donna Jones
Donna Jones Baker, from Paducah, KY, served for 15 years as president and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio. She came to the Urban League in November of 2003 after Sheila Adams retired. The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio was developed from the merger of the Greater Cincinnati Urban League with the defunct Dayton Urban League. Under Baker's leadership, the organization grew from 25 employees to 75 employees.In 2014, the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio hosted the Urban League National Conference. The following year, Baker published the regional report "The State of Black Cincinnati: Two Cities." Three years later she published "The State of Black Dayton: Opportunities Lost." In addition to leading the Urban League, Baler served for 13 years on the board of the Cincinnati Regional Chamber. She also served on the board at Xavier University. She was a member of Links, Inc. Cincinnati Chapter, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta. In 2019, Donna Jones Baker retired from the Urban League due to health reasons.
She had come to Cincinnati from Baltimore where she served as the Executive Director of the Associated Black Charities of Baltimore (Maryland), starting in 1989. Donna Jones Baker is a graduate of Paducah Tilman High School, Murray State University, and earned her MBA at the University of Baltimore.
