Bridget Viola Bivens was born in Bardstown, KY, the daughter of Mary Gertrude Green and Joseph Harry Bivens. The family is enumerated in the 1920 and 1930 U.S. Census when they were living in Bardstown.

Bridget Viola Bivens had been employed as an elevator operator and was living in Indianapolis, IN, when she enlisted in the Army in 1943 according to her record in the National Archives, Access to Archival Databases. In the Army, she was a member of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. After her military service, she was employed for 40 years at the U.S. Army Finance and Accounting Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana. She was the Supervisor of Retired Pay. Bridget Viola Bivens died in Indianapolis, IN, and is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery.
