Dorothy J. Young was living in Chicago, IL, when she enlisted in the Army in 1943, according to her record in Ancestry. She served with CO 8, 3 Regt 1798 WAC, and WAC 1050th A. A. F. (source: U.S. Headstone Applications for Military Veterans in Ancestry).

Dorothy Jean Young Thompson Davis was born in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Mary W. Hanley and Joseph S. Young. The family is enumerated in the 1930 and 1940 U.S. Census. Dorothy was the wife of Calvin Davis, Sr. She died in Louisville, KY, in 1965 and is buried in the Petersburg Newburg Cemetery.
