Slavery Era Insurance Policies Registry
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Insurance, used to provide an online register of slave insurance that included the names of slaves, the slave holder, and the insurance policy number. Now, however, there is an online index at Ancestry.com that includes information on insured slaves in Kentucky.
