Jenkins Sluggers (Jenkins, KY, baseball team)

On the 4th of July, 1935, the Jenkins Sluggers, a Colored baseball team from Jenkins, KY, were scheduled to play the Middlesboro Blue Sox, a Colored baseball team from Middlesboro, KY. The game was to take place in the East End Park in Middlesboro. After the game, a number of activities were to take place in the park for the city's Colored population in celebration of the holiday.
