McAfee, Andrew
(born: 1861 - died: 1937)Andrew McAfee, a council member in Jessamine County, KY, in 1898, represented Ward District No. 2. McAfee was one of the first African American councilmen in the county.
McAfee was a hotel cook, the son of James (b. 1830 in KY) and Ellen Tap McAfee (b. 1832 in KY). The family of ten is listed in the 1870 U.S. Federal Census. Andrew died in Nicholasville in 1937, the cause of death listed as senility on his death certificate.
