Jones, Daisy

Daisy Jones was the first African American nurse in Colorado. Her family had escaped from slavery in Kentucky and made their way to Canada, where Jones received her nurse's training. She moved to Denver, CO, in 1904.

Jones was also one of the organizers of the NAACP in Colorado. Her forceps and medicine bag are on display at the Black American West Museum in Denver.
