Miller, Raymond "Junior"
(born: October 8, 1927 - died: November 18, 2004)Born in Lebanon Junction, KY, Raymond Miller was the son of Raymond, Sr. and Leatta Miller. The family lived on State Highway Rt. 61, according to the 1930 U.S. Federal Census.
Raymond Miller, Jr. began his baseball career as a teenager, playing with the Lebanon Hustlers. He later played for the Alabama Zulu Cannibals (1943-1945); the Indianapolis Clowns (1944), playing first base; and also with the Louisville Black Colonels and the Birmingham Black Barons (1945) and the Grand Rapids Black Sox, Detroit Stars, and the Kansas City Monarchs (1947-1954). He continued to play in the Negro Leagues until 1955, when he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds.
Miller was a Steward's mate in the U.S. Navy January 16, 1946-November 17, 1947. He was the husband of Carmen Miller.
