Sumner, Thomas R.

(born: 1949) 

Born in Louisville, KY, Thomas R. Sumner is a graduate of the University of Illinois and its John Marshall Law School. Since 1988, he has been an associate judge in the Illinois Circuit Court.

Sumner was a trial attorney with the Cook County Public Defenders Office from 1978-1982 and was a partner with Sumner and Smith from 1982-1988. He was president of the more than 700-member Cook County Bar Association. He retired from the bench in 2007.
