West, Millard

(born: 1943) 

Millard West was the first African American state trooper in Kentucky. From Lexington, KY, he was a 25-year old graduate of the police academy and an Air Force veteran. Millard West graduated with the 37th cadet class and was assigned to Port Four in Elizabethtown, KY. He served with the state police for five years. He also worked for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons. West died October 23, 2018.
