Always there: the African-American presence in American quilts (book)

Written by C. Benberry (Kentucky Quilt Project),  this work includes Kentucky quilters such as Fanny Catlett, born in 1859 in Birmingham, KY, and Minnie Benberry of Grand Rivers, KY. It also includes a quilt made by slaves in Richmond, KY.

The title Always there: the African-American presence in American quilts was first used for the traveling quilt exhibit shown around the country between 1992 and 1994.
