Holmes, David Sanford, Jr.

(born: August 11, 1914  -  died: May 21, 1994) 

David S. Holmes, Jr. was born in Covington, KY, the son of Elizabeth Cove and David S. Holmes, Sr. He grew up in Springfield, OH. He was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives, serving 1959-1974. In 1974, he was elected to the Michigan Senate and remained a senator until his death in 1994. He was the father of Patricia A. Holmes who won the special election and completed her father's term from November 29, 1994 to December 31, 1994. He was the husband of Mildred J. Grant Holmes, and later married Avis E. Holmes.
