Brown, Camellia Adell Million

(born: February 18, 1940) 

Camellia A. Million was the first African American to be employed as a city worker by the City of Frankfort. She was hired as a clerk in the Police Department in 1961 at a salary of $200 per month. Million is included in the Temple Choir at Corinthian Baptist Church photo in the Kentucky Historical Society Digital Collections. Camellia A. Million was born in Frankfort, KY, the daughter of Alfred and Nannie Mason Million. She was the wife of James R. Brown. For more see The State Journal (Frankfort, KY) 04/17/61.
