Brooks, Edward Benjamin
(born: 1886 - died: 1953)Edward Brooks was born in Paducah, KY. He practiced medicine in Shawnee, OK for 15 years, then moved to Oklahoma City.
Brooks was the first African American physician in Oklahoma City to hold a commission from the U.S. Employees Compensation Commission. He and his wife Ruth (b. 1895 in Arkansas) were living in Shawnee in 1920, according to the U.S. Federal Census.
