Colored News and Colored News Notes (Georgetown Newspaper)

In the 1950’s, the Georgetown Times ran the column devoted to the life and times of Scott County’s African American citizens. Published either as “Colored News” or “Colored News Notes”, depending on the issue, the column ran from 1954-1958. The author was A.B. Sowards, also known as Ada B. Sowards, librarian at the Charles Steele Branch library, located at the Ed Davis High School.
