Fann, Patricia Humphries
Patricia Humphries Fann, from Covington, KY, is a journalist and educator, and she has portrayed Harriet Tubman at national and international locations for more than three decades. Fann was the owner of The Suspension Press newspaper. The paper was established in 1982 in Covington and covered the Black community in Northern Kentucky. The newspaper is available on microfilm at the University of Kentucky Libraries Periodicals Desk in Young Library.Patricia H. Fann established the Suspension Press Teen Council, and a division of the council was A New Direction for African American Females. The press held an annual award reception to recognize outstanding and distinguished service. Fann was the producer of Suspension Press Presents, a community affairs television program that aired on the local cable channels.
