The African American women listed below came to Kentucky to enlist in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during World War II. These women were not born in Kentucky, nor did they live in Kentucky prior to their enlistment. It is not known at this time why they came to Kentucky to enlist in the WAC.

1. Susie S. Clark from Orange County, VA, enlisted at Fort Knox, KY in 1943.
2. Geneva V. Ferguson from Hamilton County, OH, enlisted at Fort Thomas in Newport, KY in 1942.
3. Frances H. Jones from Philadelphia County, PA, enlisted at Fort Knox, KY in 1943.
4. Florida R. Martin from New York County, NY, enlisted at Fort Knox, KY in 1943. 
5. Odessa C. Perry from New York County, NY, enlisted at Fort Knox, KY in 1943.
6. Lillian S. Rose from Orleans County, LA, enlisted at Fort Knox, KY in 1943.
