Bessie L. Robinson was divorced when she enlisted in the Army in New York City, according to her record in the National Archives, Access to Archival Databases. Her record also indicates that she was born in Kentucky.

Bessie L. Robinson served in the WAC during World War II and the Korean War. Her name is listed among the women from Ohio who were with the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion [a US Army Women Foundation website]. She is buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
