Dorothy M. Watson was born in Louisville, KY and still living there when she enlisted in the Army, according to her record in the National Archives, Access to Archival Databases. A graduate of Central High School, she attended Wilberforce University before enlisting. After her military service, Watson returned to Louisville, where she worked as a waitress. She died in 1997. She was the daughter of Lenora M. Dorsey and Edward Watson. Her family is enumerated in the 1920 U.S. Census when Dorothy was almost two years old.
