Ethel W. Fields was married and living in Jefferson County, KY when she enlisted in the Army in Cincinnati, OH, according to her enlistment record in Ancestry. She was employed laundering and cleaning clothes.

After her military service, she lived in Westland, MI. she died in 1997 and is buried in the United Memorial Gardens in Plymouth, MI.

Born in Irvington, KY, Ethel was the daughter of Ida Belle Leak and Clarence Watts. Her family had moved from Irvington to Louisville by 1940, according to the U.S. Census.
