"Uncovering the Lives of Kentucky's Enslaved People"

The 2018 publication Uncovering the Lives of Kentucky's Enslaved People is available online as a .pdf at Heritage Spotlight, Spotlight No.5. The title was published by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in partnership with the Kentucky Heritage Council and the University of Kentucky, Department of Anthropology. The publication is a summary of the archaeological research on plantation layout and on the lifeways of enslaved African Americans during the early to late 19th Century in Jessamine County in Central Kentucky. The authors are M. Jay Stottman and Lori C. Stahlgren, both with the Kentucky Archaeological Survey.
