Ashland Colored Branch Library (Boyd County, KY)

The location of the Ashland Colored Branch Library was not given in the 1935 Library Annual Report that the Ashland Public Library submitted to the Kentucky Library Commission. Services were not provided to Negroes at the main library.

The colored library was located within the Booker T. Washington School, according to the 1947 Library Annual Report that the Ashland Public Library  submitted to the Library Extension Division. The library had been located in the school as early as 1941. Emma Brown Horton served as the librarian from 1941-1947.
