Mack, Lee Nor
(born: 1914 - died: 1985)Lee Nor Mack was a contractor who in 1965 was the first African American councilman to be elected in Shelbyville, KY since 1904. He served as a councilman from 1967-1985.
Mack, a veteran of World War II, was working for the Lerman Dry Goods Co. when he completed his draft card in 1940 (Ancestry). Lee Nor Mack Street is named in his honor.
Mack died in Jefferson County, KY on December 7, 1985. He was the son of Carrie Mountjoy and Noah Mack and the husband of Margaret L. Jackson Mack.
