Hill, Carl McClellan

Carl M. Hill was president of Kentucky State College, 1962-1975; he added four undergraduate departments, a gradate school, and a special Black Collection to the library. Under his leadership, the school became Kentucky State University. Hill had one of the longest tenures as president of Kentucky Sate University. The Carl M. Hill Student Center is named in his honor. Carl M. Hill was from Norfolk, VA, the son of Sarah Roe and William Franklin Hill [source: Virginia Select Marriages]. He married Mary E.
