A for-profit genealogy company, the largest in the world, with a network of websites that provide access to historical records and indicies in the U.S. and several foreign countries.  Ancesry.com is a subscription service that can be purchased by individuals.  Ancesry Library Edition is a subscription service for libraries, schools, and other institutions, but does not have the personlized functions available to individual subscribers.
