Van Leer, Darryl(born: 1961)
Darryl Van Leer is an actor, vocalist, writer, and photographer. He was born in Madisonville, KY, and is a graduate of Western Kentucky University. He began his career on BET's "Bobby Jones Gospel Show." Van Leer has appeared in First Time, a Nickelodeon movie, and HBO's The Second Civil War and Up Against the Wall. He was nominated for a 1996 NAACP Theatre Award and was recognized by the National Association of Campus Activities. His one-man plays, which he wrote and produced, representS African Americans such as Malcolm X, Nat Turner, and Marcus Garvey. One of his works is Rubycat Lawson’s Roadhouse Lounge.
