As of July 2011, Marcellus Turner has been the chief librarian of the Seattle Public Library. He was previously the Executive Director of Jefferson County Public Library in Lakewood, CO, a suburb of Denver, CO. He holds a Master of Science in Library Science from the University of Tennessee. Turner is currently a member of the American Library Association, Public Library Association and Black Caucus of the American Library Association. His term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Public Library Association ended July 2008.
